Parenting is rewarding, but it can be stressful at times, especially when other stressors are adding up. Mindful Parenting is a way of being that helps in dealing with parental stress and being more present. The Swampscott Health Department has contracted with Christine Doucet to offer this free series to Swampscott residents. Christine has been working with families for more than 40 years, most recently as a Family Support Specialist for the City of Cambridge, where she implemented mindful practices in their programs. She is a fellow of the UMASS Fellowship in Early Relational Health, and is a Certified Infant Massage Trainer at Infant Massage, WINC. Trained as Nurse Midwife in her native country, France, Christine is passionate about advocating and supporting families. This series is interactive with discussions, activities and practical tools to incorporate mindfulness, self-compassion, emotional awareness and control, and gratitude into your life and with your children. This series is designed for Swampscott parents or caregivers parenting child(ren) from birth to 12 years old and you must be at least 18 years of age or older in order to participate.
